A female and male Crag

Crags are one of the three playable classes in Remnants of Skystone. They use Grapple Arms to swing through rooms and attack enemies.

History[]

Several centuries ago, the Crags of Deadrock Canyon created the Copperstone Mines.[1]

Aeronauts declared war on the Crags living on Grittop Mountain one year after the Etherite Rush began. The Aeronauts wanted control of this area for its unusually high amounts of Etherite.[2]

Ferrics and Crags warred over the Blueridge River in 6 AH at the Battle of Blueridge. Two years later, they signed a treaty to end the dispute.[3]

In 36 AH, many Crags fled to Nidaria using the Paydirt Tramway.[4]

Culture[]

Crags are "mountain-dwelling people who specialize in climbing."[5] Prior to using Link=Brass (currency) Brass and SporeSpores, Crags' currency was the Tinchip.[6]

Crags believe that the mythical figure Jack McCrag created the Skystone by pulling the second moon from the sky.[7] They are superstitious, and often create stacks of Steadfast Stones for good luck.[8]

Crag NPCs have Western-style clothing, often wearing chaps and ten-gallon hats.

Banderos[]

Main article: Bandero

Banderos are a group of Crags native to Paydirt Summit. Their ancestors were outlaws and often stole ores from other Crags, which is why they were not allowed to flee to Nidaria after the spread of Haze.[9] They are often hostile to Nidarians because of this.

Gameplay information[]

Directional attacks[]

Yet another new room

A Crag attacking diagonally

If on the ground, Crags can attack in all directions. They can attack left, right, directly above them, up and to the right, or up and to the left. Ducking and attack left or right will also send a whip attack to inflict damage of mimics lower than standard whip height.

If on a wall, Crags are able to attack five different ways. They can attack upwards and downwards, perpendicular to the wall, diagonally upwards, or diagonally downwards.

On the ceiling, Crags can attack in five different directions: left, right, down, down and to the left, or down and to the right.

While jumping, Crags can attack in six different directions: up, left, right, upwards left and right attacks, and downwards in a large sweep.

Crags can destroy special barriers around Etherea which are marked with a faint red outline.

Swinging[]

The 4th new room

A swinging Crag

Pressing the jump button twice in mid-air makes a Crag to shoot their grapple diagonally up and forward. If it makes contact will a ceiling, the Crag will swing. While they are swinging, the Crag's Skill bar only refills when they are touching the ground. The first enemy a Crag hits while swinging takes damage as a normal attack, and enemies crawling along a surface that the hook attaches to also take damage.

If a Crag holds DOWN after connecting to a wall, they stop swinging. Through using the up or down arrows, the Crag can move up and down the rope.

If the UP button is held while pressing A, the Crag will grapple upwards quickly and cling to the ceiling. If they hit a Mimic this way, it will take damage.

Piton spike[]

Mangler Trophy Farming

A Crag on a wall

When a Crag touches a wall or ceiling while pressing an arrow key into the direction of the wall or ceiling, the Crag will drive a piton spike into the wall or ceiling.

This allows a Crag to climb walls simply by jumping up and driving the spike into the wall over and over. Crags cannot climb past a flow of steam, however.

Downward Swipe[]

Downward swipe

Pressing the down arrow and attack buttons while in the air will have the Crag do a downward swipe attack, in which they swings their whip in a semi-circular motion under their body, injuring all enemies within range.

Nidarian Guard Attacks[]

Flailspin
Whiplash

Nidarian Guard players have additional attacks.

Flailspin[]

Pressing and holding down the attack button when standing will make the Crag spin the whip around, causing continuous damage to any Mimics in range. The attack stops when they stop using their rope, let go of the attack button, or run out of Stamina.

Whiplash[]

Pressing and holding down the attack button when crouching will make a purple circle appear in the middle of the Crag. When it disappears, the Crag will have a blue afterimage wherever they move.

Pressing the attack button again will create a special attack that creates a blue shockwave. The shockwave damage is equal to twice the player's Skill stat. The shockwave will not be created if the Crag is attacking through a wall. This skill uses a small amount of Stamina.
